Elf Spring Warm Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

I’m sooo late but I still wanted to share this palette with you ladies because I’ve been using it for a little while and I actually like it! I first bought one of these to giveaway to one of you Fancies but once I seen it in person I was all over it. I just had to have it! So when Elf discounted their spring collection I decided to grab one for myself. I didn’t really need any new shadows but this palette is mostly matte and I just LOVE matte shadows!

<p style=”text-align: left;”><span style=”text-align: left;”>The color selection of this palette is what really drew me in! I love the different pinks, golds and browns. Three of my favorite colors when it comes to makeup! I’m a pretty big fan of Elf’s makeup but I was a little leery of this palette at first because their shadows can be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes the formula isn’t very consistent throughout their palettes so I’m hoping this one will be different. So far, I’m finding it pretty nice quality. As you can tell from the random swatches above, some of these shadows are very pigmented! I’m going to be sure to update you guys with some looks and a review soon!

EOS Lemon Drop Balm Review

If wasn’t for being blog and Youtube obsessed I probably wouldn’t know anything about this balm but I’m so glad I do! Does it look weird? Yes. Does it work well? Absolutely! EOS is a green friendly brand you can find at most drugstores and superstores and it’s fairly cheap. I was drawn into trying this balm because it’s made with all natural ingredients like shea butter and jojoba oil. A refreshing change from all my chemical ridden lippies. So I decided to grab one from CVS one day! I paid about $3 for it so it’s pretty cheap and the size isn’t too small so I think it should last me a little while.

<p style=”text-align: center;”>

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I just love the packaging of this balm! It’s not the typical boring tube type of balm. It comes in a little egg shaped container and there’s no swiveling. You just unscrew and apply. It’s really convenient because there’s no extra fumbling once you remove the cap. Plus, the unique shape makes this balm super easy to find in any cluttered bag. It’s also very sturdy. I’ve dropped this a million times with no problems. As long as you be sure to screw the cap all the way on you should be go to!

<p style=”text-align: center;”>

<p style=”text-align: center;”>

<p style=”text-align: left;”>The formula doesn’t disappoint either! First off, this balm smells absolutely heavenly. It has a wonderful sweet lemon scent that lingers for a little bit. I wish it stayed longer because it honestly smells delicious. I find this balm pretty moisturizing. I love how soft my lips feel with it on and once it’s worn off. However, this balm doesn’t have much staying power. It’s not at all thick like other balms so it only lasts around 2-3 hours for me but I don’t mind reapplying because it smells so good! Definitely a good buy!

<p style=”text-align: left;”>

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Here’s my final thoughts:

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Pros:

affordable

easy to find

moisturizing

unique packaging

smells great

Cons:

doesn’t last long

i can’t really think of too many bad things to say about this balm because it really is great! I think every makeup junkie should have one of these in her bag. It’s perfect to wear alone and even better to wear under lipsticks. For just $3 you can’t afford to miss out on this!

MAC 168se Brush Review

I can’t express enough how happy I am that I found that blog sale a little while ago! Not only did I finally get a chance to try some MAC brushes but I totally found some new loves! This isn’t the best brush I’ve ever tried but there’s more than enough reasons why this brush was still able to land itself in my favorites list last month. Definitely a great buy!

Because I scored this for an amazing deal through a blog sale I’m not exactly sure where you’ll be able to find this brush. Prior to purchasing this brush, I did a bit of research and discovered that these mini brushes aren’t very popular. They’re hard to find and not the same quality as the regular MAC brushes. I say “regular” because these brushes aren’t full sized brushes nor are they manufactured the same way full sized MAC brushes are. That’s why they have the “se” label at the end. These brushes are made in China I believe and are machine made unlike full sized brushes. I’ve read a few reviews stating that these brushes aren’t as soft as regular MAC brushes. I can’t really attest to that because I’ve never tried a MAC brush but still bear with me!

<p style=”text-align: center;”>

<p style=”text-align: left;”>The size of this brush is one of the things I love best. It’s PERFECT for my small hands and face. The short handle and small brush head make for great precision. I’m able to apply my blush effortlessly exactly where I want it. I don’t have to be extra careful when blending either! Another plus is that this brush is very dense! It picks up pigment excellently. I’m able to pick up just the right amount. Even with my more pigmented blushes (like my La Femme pans) I don’t have to worry about picking up too much and ending up with the clown face.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>

<p style=”text-align: center;”>

<p style=”text-align: center;”>

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Now on to the bristles! This brush is incredibly dense to be so small but, unfortunately, the bristles are not that soft. I hate to say it because I really do love this brush but my Elf brushes are much softer. This brush is made of natural hairs I believe but they can feel a bit prickly against the skin. It is a bit disappointing but not completely an issue for me. What is an issue for me, however, is the fact that this brush has a tendency to shed. It’s not to the point where I fear the brush will go bald but it’s enough to annoy me. I’m not used to dealing with shedding brushes because my Sonia Kashuk and Elf brushes very rarely shed. I mean almost never. With this brush I’ve noticed a few bristles left on my face after using it. I’m hoping a nice deep condition may soften the bristles a bit and slow up the shedding. Fingers crossed!

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Here’s my final thoughts:

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Pros:

great for precise blush application

excellent brush for small faces

very dense

picks up pigment very well

blends effortlessly

Cons:

sheds a bit

bristles aren’t very soft

very difficult to find on the market

Overall, I think this is an excellent brush! I can do without the prickliness and shedding but this is definitely one of my favorite brushes anyway! I’m pretty pleased with my first mini MAC brush although I can’t wait to try a regular one. I’m curious to see how they’ll compare. Have any of you ladies tried the se brushes? What do you think?

Date Night Eye Look

I have been incredibly lazy this summer. I only decide to put on eyeshadow when I’m going out which is like almost never lol. But now I’m itching to create more looks! I got asked to dinner a few nights ago by this really hot guy so I decided to go all out.
