Rite Aid Renewal Duo Fiber Blending Brush Review

As much as I love nice quality cheapie brushes I’m surprised I haven’t considered trying any drugstore lines! While blog browsing, I came across some pics of some really nice looking brushes. I was totally surprised when I learned they were from Rite Aid! Rite Aid has their own line of brushes called Rite Aid Renewal that are fairly inexpensive and appear to be quite a hit. Check it out!

There are a few other brushes in this line including eye brushes but I was the most interested in this Duo Fiber Blending brush. I thought it looked a bit more dense than my Elf Studio Stipple brush so I was hoping I’d be able to use this brush for my foundation. I’ve been searching for quite some time for a nice stipple brush to use for foundation!

I found this brush did an okay job for foundation. But it didn’t blow me away. I just didn’t find it dense or firm enough. But don’t get me wrong! This brush certainly isn’t flimsy! While it’s too soft for foundation it is absolutely PERFECT for blush! I’ve kicked all of my blush brushes to the side for this beauty. Including my all time favorite Elf stipple brush!

The brush head is small enough to give very precise application. I don’t have to worry about spreading when blending. I love that the bristles are soo soft. They’re perfect for giving that airbrushed finish. My blush always looks so natural! What I love most about this brush is that it doesn’t pick up too much pigment. I have no problem working with my super pigmented MAC and La Femme blushes with this beauty.

Pros

    • very soft
    • great for blush application
    • no shedding
    • pretty dense
    • excellent for pigmented blushes
    • very affordable

    Cons

      • only available at Rite Aid
      • not dense enough for foundation application

Overall, I love this brush! It’s not the best for foundation but it works well if you’re in a pinch but it’s fabulous for blush. Totally my new favorite blush brush! Next time you stop by Rite Aid you should definitely check out the Renewal line!
