Milani Uptown Mauve Color Statement Lipstick Review

It’s been a while since I’ve taken a walk on the Milani side but I’m just loving my little rendezvous here! Those Color Statement Lipsticks I picked up are really treating me nicely. I’ve almost forgotten how much I loved drugstore lippies! Out of the three beautiful shades I picked my favorite has to be Uptown Mauve. It’s a bright, bold fuchsia that just looks lovely!

Uptown Mauve comes in a shiny gold plastic casing that feels pretty good for a drugstore lipstick. The lipstick has a watermelon smell and taste that isn’t very strong but does linger for a little bit. If you’re sensitive to smell or taste in lippies this might bother you. I didn’t find it to be a problem though. The formula is very, very nice! Uptown Mauve is very creamy and doesn’t tug or drag on the lipsticks. It’s very pigmented in just one swipe and applies pretty evenly. I didn’t find it to be hydrating nor drying and it wore for around 4 hours with a satin finish. I did experience a bit of staining that lasted another 2 hours so this would be a good lipstick for ladies who don’t like to touch up too often. As it began to fade it didn’t make my lips peel or settle much like some of my MAC lipsticks tend to do so I really love the formula for that!

Milani seems to have a really good lipstick formula on their hands! I’ve only played around with my other two Color Statement Lipsticks a couple of times but they seem to be like Uptown Mauve which is just heavenly! It’s hard to believe such a wonderful lipstick only costs $6. I can’t wait to get more Color Statement lipsticks!
