I’m back with more swatches! I really had good intentions on not going crazy with the MAC Playland Collection but naturally that backfired. Bright lippies just get me excited! I managed to pick up Playland lipstick, Happy Go Lucky lipstick, Pure Silliness lip glass and Brightside lip glass in store. But I also scored Red Balloon and Toying Around lipsticks online from Nordstrom. I’m so naughty! But it feels so good!
When I first heard about this collection I was sure I could skip all the pink lippies. I mean seriously. How many pink lipsticks and glosses does one girl need? The answer? All of them! I just couldn’t resist Happy Go Lucky once I swatched it in store. It reminds me of Candy Yum Yum and Pink Pigeon but it’s creamier as well as darker and has just a tiny bit of purple in the mix. I can easily see gals of all complexions rock Happy Go Lucky and look fabulous!
Playland has been on my list all along! It’s a sparkling bright yellow gold that’s pretty versatile. You can rock it on its own (or paired with Brightside lip glass) for a funky shimmering yellow lip. Or you can pair it with other lipsticks and glosses to take them to another level. I’m actually wearing it straight out the tube now for testing and I’m just loving the color! It’s definitely out there so it’ll take some getting used to. I think it would look so beautiful paired with my soft orange Lasting Sensation lip liner though. Like a sunset on my lips. I can’t wait to play around with it some more!
Did I mention I can’t resist pink lippies? I just started breaking out my glosses again so I thought it would only be right that I picked up Pure Silliness. It’s a gorgeous pinky lilac that doesn’t look like anything in my stash. It kind of reminds me of my beloved Viva Glam Nicki but it’s cooler and much more purple. It’s also very opaque like Viva Glam Nicki so it’ll work very well on its own. I think it would look even hotter paired with Magenta lip liner!
You can’t haul a yellow lipstick without the yellow gloss, right? I hauled Brightside to pair with Playland. However, I think it’ll work well to transform lipsticks that were a little too cool or dull for me. I picked up Snob a long time ago because it was such a cult favorite but it looks almost grey on me. Yuck! I was thinking of recycling it with Back to MAC but I’m gonna try it with Brightside first to see if it can liven it up. I think it’ll go pretty well with my Ablaze lipstick that I could never quite pull off either. So many possibilities!
