For every high end product there’s always a dupe. You just have to find it! In the case of the MAC Prep + Prime Lip primer you don’t have to search too hard because I’ve found it for you! While it’s not exactly the same the Milani Anti-Feathering Lip Liner comes pretty darn close and costs less than half of Prep + Prime Lip. Check it out!
I’m a huge beauty junkie so, of course, I spend a lot of my free time browsing other beauty blogs. It’s my guilty pleasure! Today, Karen over at Makeup and Beauty Blog (love, love, love her blog!) posted about some of her go to products for a “no makeup” look and it inspired me to post about my current everyday essentials!
February definitely wasn’t the best month for me as I’ve spent most of it in bed sick. Boo you polar vortex and wisdom teeth! Most days I could barely stand to get dressed let alone put on any makeup so this month I focused more on pampering my skin instead. Although I didn’t glam up February the way I wanted I still managed to stumble upon some pretty awesome products that have become staples in my routine. Take a look!
Have you ever had a beauty aha moment? Like, “Wow I can’t believe I’m just now trying this”? The first time I tried MAC Prep + Prime Lip I was so amazed. My lips felt smooth and soft. My lippies went on beautifully and wore much better. It really made me realize how important lip primers are! I know it’s a little tough throwing in another step to toss on a lipstick or gloss but Prep + Prime is more than worth it!
Sometimes when I’m walking through Sephora I just let my mind wander and pick up things just because. It’s a bad habit when you’re a makeup addict! During a visit to check out the Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial I checked out the primer and really liked the texture. It’s so creamy! I’ve always used silicone based primers so this formula was a totally new experience for me. And I love it!
The Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer is a silicone and paraben free primer enriched with Greek yogurt for smooth makeup application and long lasting wear. It comes out of the tube as a cream but as you apply it melts into sort of like a gel that glides across the skin beautifully with a nice cooling sensation. A little definitely goes a long way with this primer because it is very thick and emollient. Upon application it looks a little greasy but it absorbs in a minute or so to a soft, dewy finish. My makeup glides across my face with this primer and I don’t use as much product. The creamy gel like texture really helps to spread things around. The Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer definitely isn’t mattifying so I still set my t-zone with powder if there’s a bit of shine peeking through. Otherwise, it works very well and adds some much needed moisture during this extremely freezing weather.
The Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer is available at Sephora for $30.
It’s so hard to believe that it’s New Year’s Eve already! This year has been an amazing one for Fancieland but I’m glad to see it go. I’m ready for new beginnings! I have so much in store for you guys in 2014 that I’m already giddy with excitement! But before I jump into all the new year goodness I want to celebrate 2013 one last time with a round up of faves. Enjoy!
I know some of you are confused wondering, “What the heck is hitting pan?” So let me clear that up! Whenever you finish a product it’s called hitting pan (or jar, tube, etc) in the blogging world. Once I started building a large stash I notice hitting pan would take more work. I’m always buying shiny, new products so I often forget about my old favorites. But I’ve actually been using up some of my stash!
