Ahh, it feels so good to blog again! It’s only been two days since my last post but my laptop has been giving me a hard time for weeks making it impossible to really get anything done. It looks like it may have finally died today. Honestly, it won’t be missed. It’s no secret I love makeup and all things beauty. It’s just who I am! But the biggest reason behind Fancieland was to be a reference for women who looked like me. There are millions of beauty bloggers all over the world but there are so little who really understand the needs of women of color. Especially those of us with a little bit more pigment. It’s like we get overlooked in the beauty world. Not anymore! When I first started wearing makeup I struggled picking out foundations so I hope my foundation collection will help ladies like me find that perfect shade.

February definitely wasn’t the best month for me as I’ve spent most of it in bed sick. Boo you polar vortex and wisdom teeth! Most days I could barely stand to get dressed let alone put on any makeup so this month I focused more on pampering my skin instead. Although I didn’t glam up February the way I wanted I still managed to stumble upon some pretty awesome products that have become staples in my routine. Take a look!
Matte lips have been dominating my stash since fall but now that we’re getting closer to spring I’m dying for some lighter textures and brighter colors! I haven’t been much of a gloss girl lately but the Maybelline Color Elixir glosses are really rocking my world! Hibiscus Haven was the first shade I tried and less than a week later I already own 3 more. That’s how good this formula is!

I’m more of a bright lip kind of gal but that has never stopped me from hoarding nudes too. I may not opt for a nude lip often but I think finding the perfect nude is so important! You never know when you’ll want to super smoke those eyes so it’s nice to have a good nude lip ready to balance the look, right? I wouldn’t call Truffle Tease my perfect nude lipstick but it comes pretty close!
